Daisy Lee to Teach in Philadelphia

Daisy Lee is coming to the Philadelphia area on April 3rd to teach two fabulous qigong workshops.  A downloadable registration form is available at this site under “Events.”  Please join us and invite your friends too.

Daisy Lee is a world-renown teacher.  Daisy is certified as an Advanced Qigong Instructor and Clinical Practitioner by the National Qigong Association of America, and is a US board member on the International Qigong Science Association in Beijing. She has studied and taught Qigong for the past 15 years and leads annual Qigong study and healing tours to China with Francesco Garripoli, producer and director of the PBS documentary “Qigong – Ancient Chinese Healing for the 21st Century” and author of “Qigong Essence of the Healing Dance”. She has taught internal arts all over the world

Daisy and Francesco’s Qigong exercise programs have aired on Fit TV, PBS TV and Vision TV, and are used in schools, hospitals, corporations and prisons to reduce stress, increase strength, focus and flexibiity and boost immunity.  Three of their DVD’s are produced by Gaiam, a leader in environmentally-conscious solutions. Qigong Beginning Practice, Qigong for Cleansing & Detox, and Qigong for Stress Relief have all been awarded prestigious Telly and AEGIS awards for excellence in instructional media.

Researchers Study Benefits of Taijiquan

This reprint from Harvard Magazine surveys the growth and benefits of this ancient art for both mind and body.  Catherine Kerr, an instructor at Harvard Medical School describes the experience of practicing taijiquan (tai chi) as having stronger legs, being more alert, more focused, and more relaxed.  It improves her mood all around.  To read the entire article download here.

Harvard Health Journal Describes Taijiquan Benefits for Women

Tai Chi and the Flu: University of Illinois Report

Prevention magazine reports in its December issue that practicing Tai Chi a week before your flu shot can boost its effectiveness by as much as 17%.  The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Illinois.  Another study, this one at the University of Shanghai, showed that when women aged 55 to 65 practiced tai chi for an hour 4 times a week levels of two different disease-fighting cells jump by nearly 32% over 4 months.
