Luann Barndt

Luann began exploring the internal arts in 2011 in search of practices that helped her feel more present, balanced, and connected in body and mind. After training as a Reiki Master Teacher and briefly practicing Tai Chi, she met Paul Rischard, who introduced her to Qigong.

During one of Paul’s classes, Luann noticed a flyer for a Nei Gong & Dao Yin weekend with Damo Mitchell. Curious and not quite knowing what she was stepping into, she registered. That experience profoundly shaped her path. She soon joined Lotus Nei Gong International and, through several years of dedicated training, earned her Nei Gong Teacher certification (https://lotusneigong.com/branches-2/). She continues to study with the Lotus Nei Gong community and is currently training in acupuncture with Xian Tian College, founded by Damo Mitchell.

Luann is an active member of the Daoist Arts of Oregon community founded by a fellow Lotus Nei Gong practitioner where she participates in retreats and facilitates webinars to support continued online learning for that community.

An active participant in Peaceable Dragon’s weekend Walking Qigong practice, Luann actively contributes to Tuesday virtual offerings, where she shares reflections and guides practices that help fellow community members deepen their own internal arts journey.

Her professional background as a somatic leadership coach and embodied educator strongly influences how she teaches. Luann pays close attention to how students experience movements from the inside out, helping them notice subtle shifts in breath, balance, awareness, and energy. She is especially interested in how internal arts and Daoist arts regulate the nervous system, cultivate presence, and help us embody life more fully.

Luann feels joyful helping others discover profound practices that bring greater clarity, balance, and aliveness to everyday life.
